Poles and bars on the subway don’t move and they don’t bend. If you are riding the subway and holding a pole or bar it must be on the same plane as the one everyone else is holding.
Unless you are very tall, you probably have your arm fully extended when you are holding onto the horizontal bar.
The horizontal bar cannot go through your head.
Also, if you’re riding the improv subway in New York, there are 2 basic seating configurations, and they also dictate additional information about where the poles are. Just sayin’.
