A delightful phone call
Yesterday, a wonderful thing happened. A week ago, I was discussing credit scores with a friend, she told me it would be on one of the free credit reports you can get 3 times a year (only from www.annualcreditreport.com - that’s the legit one, only use that one). I got a new report, and it wasn’t on there, but could be obtained by signing up for a free trial of TransUnion’s credit monitoring service. I’d never seen my score before, and I couldn’t take it any longer, I just had to know! So I did it. I’m usually bad at canceling things, so I was quite proud of myself when I called yesterday to take care of it. It went like this:
“Okay, I’m going to give you your cancellation number, are you ready?”
“Yes.”
“It’s 0, 0, 0. (pause) 0, 1.”
“Wait, my cancellation number is 00001?”
“Yes, that’s correct.”
My one major regret is that I had asked her if she realized how preposterous that was, because she didn’t seem to. But you can’t spend your whole life looking back on what might have been.
Did I oversell this? I don’t care, it delights me.
