Don’t attempt to write a solo show if you aren’t planning on going crazy.

pourmeoutalready:

*Writing pieces for a one person show is comparable to having kids.  You write a second kid before you figure out the first kid, and so on and so forth.  Soon you have 6.5 kids with another due on Sunday, and though you should pay attention to all of them individually and make each one feel special, you end up dedicating your time to your new one on the way.  But you mustn’t forget about the others!  They will die if not cared for, you fool!  You will think about those others while you are riding the train, or in the shower, wondering if people will make fun of them when they get older, or if you’ll be embarrassed by them, or if people will love them or even understand them.  You may even ponder “was I ready to be a one person show parent?”  Well, welcome to your family, and family is all there is.

*Written by a crazy person who lives by herself and would like to participate in a  friendly-yet-sensious make-out session in the foreseeable future.

**And when people talk about your kids, you’ll think “how dare you? You don’t know what it took to raise this family.” And you know they’re just trying to be helpful, but they don’t understand what your family has been through.

**Written by a crazy person who lives with three roommates and would like to participate in a  friendly-yet-sensuous make-out session in the foreseeable future.
