Oh, I went to Frankfurt alright! Wearing jeans, a t-shirt, a fleece and sneakers, I walked all around, even to the old district (Sachsenhausen, wouldn’t ya know) across the river. In this picture, I’m on my way back over the river (that’s ice in it), and somehow my hair has managed to look amazing. Hi!
You might say, “are you wearing a Lufthansa blanket?” and to that I say, “no, I’m wearing TWO Lufthansa blankets,” and I have another one in my bag. Also, I am wearing socks on my hands (fortunately I packed a pair in my carry on).
And now I will “live blog,” but totally not live since I haven’t had wifi since I left NY, my day/evening in Frankfurt. Enjoy! Or don’t.
Guys, this is getting unbearable. I’m worried if I don’t get back to the airport soon, I may actually die.
Back at the airport. I’m so cold still. Haven’t been actually warm in so long. Something to look forward to in Cape Town.
Damn, Lufthansa offered 600 Euros cash to switch to tomorrow’s flight. I was too slow on the draw, cause I would do that. 600 Euros! Shouldn’t have sat so far from the counter.
Also, I finally get duty free. I have never understood it- I guess I just don’t buy enough luxury goods, but usually it’s not that cheap and you’re often dealing with an unfavorable exchange rate (as they all seem to be these days), and I understand that the concept is that it’s “duty free,” but still. But, since my hands were chapped and cracking from the cold today, I decided to “try me” some really expensive lotions. And then I put on some perfume. And then I did my makeup. Fun! Duty Free: more than just occasional free alcohol samples and overpriced candy. I used a face moisturizer that cost 155 Euros. WHAT?
Oh my god, it’s drizzling now. So, so very glad that didn’t happen earlier.
